With bats and owls and creaking trees
And glass that cut through heavy air
And lights like claws a’scratchin' through
When Sun came up and filled the sky with roses
Burnt off the fog the air was clear and sweet
And we avoided all the world’s sharp things
By using our soft pink petals as shields
